After inspecting this large Ash tree with Ganoderma decay fungus present at the base, it was agreed that the weight within the crown must be reduced. We shortened the tree drastically to approximately 12m. This way limiting the chance of failure as well as retaining the main stem as vital future habitat.
This London Plane tree was beginning to cause a nuisance with branches beginning to brush against the adjacent property. We decided that a crown reduction of 2-3m all over was best practice. The tree looked great after the works with a natural flowing shape being achieved.
